Travel blog – My review of the Hilton Imperial Hotel in Dubrovnik

A style and decor worthy of Game Of Thrones

This summer I chose Croatia as a destination! Among my many mails invitation to review new hotels my attention is on the Hilton Imperial hotel in Dubrovnik, a 5-star hotel at the door of the old city of Dubrovnik.
My friends, and the whole instagram community are just talking about Dubrovnik as THE city to do at least once in a lifetime.
Is it so beautiful? More beautiful than Bali or Mexico? I do not have time to ask myself more questions. I’m already on the plane to the Hilton Imperial hotel in Dubrovnik and I cannot wait to discover the landscape that Game Of Thrones made me dream of…

The hotel is the best entry point for Dubrovnik old city

On arrival we are dazzled by the restored facade of this majestic hotel, the only one minute walk for the entrance to Dubrovnik old city is amazing.
On site, you do not have to worry about parking your car because they have valet parking (27 €), very convenient in an area where parking is almost impossible or costs you at least 80 € for 24h.
The Hilton Dubrovnik Imperial hotel is a beautiful old building built in 1895.
The facade of the hotel is splendid and dominates the entrance of the old city of Dubrovnik, there is no doubt it is the place to be !

A view of Fort Lovrijenac, and the Adriatic Sea!

The quality of the Hilton hotels has gone downhill in recent years, so I had some apprehensions about the veracity of the five stars of this hotel. However the bedding of the room was fabulous, the view from our room on the Fort Lovrijenac and the bay in which was shot several scenes of Game Of Thrones support me in the idea that this hotel deserves the five stars. The breakfast is hearty and really fresh.
The friendliness of the receptionist (Mia) and concierges only complement my opinion about this hotel. The lounge and the bar of the hotel are beautiful.

Rooms at the hotel are bright and spacious with touches of pastel white and turquoise.

We had an Executive Room, so we had a beautiful sea view with a large balcony to enjoy. This room type gives you free access to the Executive Lounge, where you are offered varied drinks and snacks. Great to have an aperitif dinner. In addition, it’s very user-friendly. All rooms have marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs.

A real Hollywood set !

Dubroknik is an unforgettable destination and a unique city with white stone walls, Renaissance architecture and populated wooden drawbridges, ancient castles, churches with frescoes and museums.
The promenade of the ramparts allows you to explore the city from the heights of the city (take the walk in the morning from the first hours if you don’t want to die under the warm weather of Croatia). The stunning facades are also known for their backs to the countless Hollywood blockbusters such as Game of Thrones.
It’s truly a magical place, whether in the Old Town, Mount SRD, or even frolicking on the many nearby beaches (small preference for Coral Beach Club Beach which I think is the most beautiful of them all, it is located in the Babin Kuk district). Others may choose to visit the protected island of Lokrum, where they can take a break on the nudist and LGBT + friendly beach.

An hotel as beautiful as Dubrovnik

In short, Dubrovnik’s reputation is true! It is a beautiful and magical city! The hotel also has a charming indoor bar for pre-dinner cocktails and live piano music for evenings. The indoor bar is also where hotel guests gather for an official afternoon tea, with scones and cakes.
In the city there are countless places to explore and then return to the comfort of the hotel. The hotel also has a picturesque spa offering a wide range of services from massages to facials and scrubs.
There is also a sauna, steam room and fitness facilities. The main asset of this hotel is still its proximity to the old city of Dubrovnik. I was charmed by this hotel which has made the Hiltons hotels worthy of my opinion again, and I can not wait to return to Croatia to discover new hotels...
